Driver Positions

Midwest Reefer

Midwest to Canada, Southeast and South Central United States, with average length of haul of 600 miles. You’ll be home every 10-14 days, with some drivers getting home weekly, depending on their home location.

Over The Road Pay Rates for Reefer/Van Drivers:

■ Starting Pay Range $.40 – $.42 per mile – includes $.08 per mile per diem.

▪Basic Level – $.40 per mile

1-2 years of driving experience and must meet minimum hiring standards.

▪ Select Level – $.41 per mile

2-4 years of driving experience and must meet minimum hiring standards.

▪ Premium Level – $.42 per mile

4+ years of driving experience and must meet minimum hiring standards.

■ Increase in Pay – 1¢ per mile paid annually on anniversary date with a cap at $.47 per mile.

■ Short Haul Pay – Base mileage pay will be increased according to the following graduated scale for loaded miles less than 400 miles in length. In order to qualify for the additional mileage pay, the total loaded miles must fit the below scale, split loads will not qualify.

■ East Coast Pay – loads delivering East of I-81 (origins W. of MS River) – $50.00 – loads delivering East of I-81 (all other origins) – $25.00

■ Stop Pay (excluding load origin and final delivery) – $15.00 for each additional pickup or delivery.

■ HazMat Pay – An additional $50.00 per load will be paid on all placarded HazMat loads.

■ Trailer Washout Pay – $10.00 for an authorized vendor washout, or a driver will receive $15.00 for a “self trailer washout”.

■ Detention Pay – $15.00 an hour when billed – maximum of $150.00.

■ Layover Pay – after 24 hours of layover, at no fault of the driver, driver qualifies for $60.00 layover pay. Subsequent 24-hour periods of layover, driver qualifies for an additional $100.00. Layover pay is subject to Operation’s discretion and can be adjusted under special circumstances.

Midwest Flatbed

Majority of loads are steel and wallboard hauled throughout the Central United States with average length of a haul of 400 miles. Home time is every 10-14 days, depending on proximity to our terminal in Fort Dodge, IA.

Regional Pay Rates for Flatbed Drivers:

■ Starting Pay Range $.43 – $.45 per mile – includes $.08 per mile per diem.

▪ Basic Level – $.43 per mile

0-1 years of driving experience and must meet minimum hiring standards.

▪ Select Level – $.44 per mile

1-3 years of driving experience and must meet minimum hiring standards.

▪ Premium Level – $.45 per mile

4+ years or more of driving experience and must meet minimum hiring standards

■ Increase in Pay – 1¢ per mile paid annually on anniversary date with a cap at $.50 per mile

■ Stop Pay (excluding load origin and final delivery) – $25.00 for each additional pickup or delivery; loads out of USG in Cloquet, MN & Walworth, WI pay $40 for each additional stop

■ Over Dimensional Loads – when hauling over dimensional loads, drivers will be paid anadditional 5 cents per loaded mile

■ All loads including building material and steel tarp and securement pay – tarp pay forsystem flatbed drivers for all loads will be $20.00

■ Chicago Cross Town Loads – $40 plus mileage

■ Short haul pay for loads less than 75 miles – $20 if driver takes empty trailer to loadorigin, tarps and secures load; $20 if driver delivers load to final destination and removestarps and securement

■ Job Site Deliveries – $20 for each load that is delivered to a job site and the customer isbilled specifically for this service.

■ East Coast Pay

– loads delivering East of I-81, (origins W. of MS River) – $50.00

– loads delivering East of I-81, but North of Virginia (all other origins) – $25.00

■ Side Kit Pay – Central Steel & Wire Chicago-Altoona $70

■ HazMat Pay – An additional $85.00 per load will be paid on all placarded HazMat loads

■ Detention Pay – $15.00 an hour when billed – maximum of $150.00

■ Layover Pay – after 24 hours of layover, at no fault of the driver, driver qualifies for $60.00 layover pay. Subsequent 24-hour periods of layover, driver qualifies for an additional $100.00. Layover pay is subject to Operation’s discretion and can be adjusted under special circumstances.

Western Reefer

Our Western Division is our only true OTR division, running 48 states. More than 70% of the runs are west of Ohio. Flexible, reliable home time.

Regional Pay Rates for Flatbed Drivers:

Fort Dodge Short Haul

The majority of our loads are wallboard and hauled within a 350 mile radius. We do have backhauls from time to time in which drivers are compensated for. Drivers are home daily and every weekend.

Starting Pay – $.41 per mile – no per diem.

– 1 year minimum of driving experience and must meet minimum hiring stands.

Increase in Pay

Base pay is increased 1 cent per mile annually on anniversary date with cap at $.44 per mile.

HazMat Loads

Drivers pulling placarded HazMat loads will be paid an additional $85.00 per load.

Teams

Our teams not only assist with delivering tight loads in a timely manner, but most are in a mix of dedicated freight with consistent and steady miles.

Over The Road Starting Pay Rates for Reefer/Van Team Drivers:

.42 cpm base pay 0, 12,000 miles per month. (.21 cpm each driver includes .04 per diem)
.44 cpm 12-14,000 miles per month.* (.22 cpm each driver includes .04 per diem)
.46 cpm 14-16,000 miles per month.* (.23 cpm each driver includes .04 per diem)
.48 cpm 16-18,000 miles per month.* (.24 cpm each driver includes .04 per diem)
.50 cpm 18,000 + miles per month.* (.25 cpm each driver includes .04 per diem)

* Bonus miles (all miles over 12,000 per month) will begin to calculate at the start of the first full calendar month of employment.

Accessorial pay will be split between the team:

Lease Purchase Reefer/Van

Decker Truck Line, Inc. is very excited to offer a Lease Purchase Program that gives our Professional Drivers a chance to earn more money consistently every week. This is accomplished by offering Drivers a 3-year Lease on a brand new Peterbilt 579. A newer truck means better MPG and very few breakdowns.  This results in more money saved in fuel purchased and more time on the road running miles.
